METSAM, The New Domestic Optical Fiber Producer

METSAM Fiber Optik San ve Tic A.S., our newly founded company, was established on 7^th July in Bilkent University Cyberpark, and it will domestically produce national optical fiber.

 

Metsam aims to gradually reduce raw material imports to zero by domestically producing optical fiber for the telecom industry in Turkey. In addition to increasing the employment of qualified personnel, it will also pave the way for new R&D opportunities.

 

Our goal is to start "commercial" production in 2022.

The support of experts, producers and research centers such as UNAM Institute of Materials Science and Nanotechnology, Meteksan Savunma within Bilkent Holding A.Ş., and the industry experience of SAMM Teknoloji İletişim A.Ş. came together in partnership named METSAM.

Our special thanks goes to Rector, Abdullah Atalar, who supported us in taking the first step of a long journey. We would like also to thank our teachers Tunç Batum and Bülend Ortaç, our General Manager Mustafa Akşit, and Onur SÜLEYMANAĞAOĞLU Muzaffer Ozturk, MÜZEYYEN EĞREKÇİ BAYRAM, Murat Atilla and Ayse Akşit, who all contributed to this process.
